THE PLATES

Many different plates were produced and the printers added a mark to each plate to identify the actual printing plate that had been used.

The marks can be found in the lines placed around the sheet. These marks generally appear in the middle of a line beneath a stamp close to the control number.

The type of marking also varies, some using cuts whith others using a dot.
