A "monogram" perfin is one in which one or more letters of the design are shared by two or more letters. Whilst some designs are quite simple, many are so complicated that it is difficult to indentify the individual letters.

Other designs consist of letters in fancy fonts.

Another group of fancy perfins are thoes where the letter(s) anclosed within various shapes.
