BRITISH REVENUES

Britain appears to have been a country that thrived on taxes and buerocracy and it therefore comes as no suprise that there are a massive variety of revenue stamps, of which the following are but a few.

The key plate issues formed the basis of a significant percentage of the revenue stamps of Great Britain.		The Transfer Duty stamps used on stocks and shares between 1888 and 1893.		The Judicature Fee stamps were issued after the transfer of vaious justice administrations to a single court.
The Land Registery stamps used to pay fees on the transfer of land.		An interim issue of postage stamps overprinted Additional Medicine Duty		Rare usage of the Foreign Bill stamps overprinted for the use of the Paymaster General's Service.

The Justice Room Stamps		T.V. Licence revenue stamps introduced in the early 1970's.
